Bylaws Changed

NIRA has modernized our bylaws to reflect current practice and to deal in a timely manner with issues that arise. Read the bylaws for changes.

February Meeting Canceled

The February regular club meeting has been canceled because of its proximity to NIRACon. The February Model of the Month contest will be held at NIRACon, so be sure to come if you want to get a model in for Model of the Month!

The Model of the Year Contest 2007

For 2007 we have three categories for Model of the Year: Youth (ages 11 and under, without parental help), Junior (ages 12 to 17), and Adult (ages 18 and above). The rules are quite simple:

At each monthly meeting, the club holds the Model of the Month contest. The Youth, Junior, and Senior winners* will have their picture posted on our web site and published in the newsletter. All winners will be entered into the Model Of The Year competition.
At the first meeting of the following year we will have a vote by all the club members present or by proxy to select the model they feel deserves to be Model Of The Year for each category.
$50.00 will be awarded to the individual whose rocket has been chosen as Model Of The Year for each category. In the event of a tie the award shall be split among the winners.
This is a contest for all club members. This contest is not decided by a club officer but by the members of your club.

Build a model, bring it in, tell us about it, and you may be the winner of NIRA's Model Of The Year!

* If there are insufficient entries for either one of Youth or Junior the categories may be rolled together for the total scoring.
